@Ride-Fly,
I have an upgrade idea for you. Ditch the headtube decal, put one of these on:
But isn't this the same guy?
Coincidence?
I think not...

Oh, hey. I just noticed the "Trojan" tag on the thread. USC crimson and gold. @Ride-Fly, you should take that bike out into the sunlight for a nice vanity shot to post on the school colors thread I started. USC fans are the only people (so far) who have earned any smack-talking rights over my Huskies this year.
Thanks guys!
I hope the Huskies destroy the Tide. It probably won't happen, but that's why they play!

Thanks Aaron! They're awesome brakes. Much stronger than road calipers- I'd say they feel as strong as V-brakes.
Absolutely! Just hurry up and be done done so we can see that bad boy on the road!
Danke schön
Thanks Bill! For you, my jarhead friend, I'll give you a Semper Fight On!!!

That is really some kind of beautiful bike you built, your choices of components really sets this one apart from others. Love the look of the crankset, hubs and those Paul brakes.

Hey... So did either of you two get these gorgeous bikes out on the road for some action photos?
Knucks, I'm particularly interested in yours because it is remarkably similar to the Audax E-E I'm currently building: brooks, compass tires, grey anodised rims, metal guards... even the Mafac Racers which are still sitting on my unfinished project! What stem did you use on yours (is that a grand bois)? Any new photos to allow me stare at it some more?

Nice job. Looks fantastic. Those herse cranks really elevate it to a different class of bike. Looks like you've somehow managed to squeeze in some properly big tires. Can I ask: are they 30c GBs... or do the wider rims just make them look that big? And how are you finding clearance with them and the guards (i.e. will you be sticking with that set-up)?
(Funny enough... I got my hands on a black Paul Racer brake too. But I only have one and I'm not sure whether it will fit with the rest of my build.)

Clearance seems fine but it's very close - interestingly enough the fenders I have (honjo 45mm) are bigger than what Grand Bois suggests to run with these tires, but I wonder if that's on the basis that the Cypress measure 30mm on some skinnier rims..
I just rode the bike to work and all seemed fine, but the rear skewer was a bit loose so the wheel shifted which caused rubbing. I also had removed the adjusters in the dropouts because I needed to get the wheel as far as it would go for the fender clearance at the chainstay.

They are indeed the GB Cypress. They measure 32mm on the TB14 rims.

Oh dear. That's annoying. It does sound like you're pushing the frame to it's furthest limits as a rando bike - which is why I was so interested (coz I'd like to do the same). But, as I've learned from previous builds, small mm differences start to count for a whole lot more when you're doing that.
For instance: those GB Cypres are just about exactly 30mm wide on my open pros - which would probably give you that extra bit of wiggle room you need. Similarly, the VO 45mm guards offer a lot more room underneath than the, admittedly much nicer, honjos that you have. If you can swallow the cost of buying another pair of tires... the GB cerfs might give you a bit more peace of mind (and they might measure out to 28 or so on tb14s?)

The GB Cypres on my TB14 measured 33mm wide after a few hundred miles; GB Cerf were 29mm wide after they finished stretching.
