Probably just photo distortion from the angle of the shot. My guess would be 1950s-1960s Chinese or something from behind the Iron Curtain, same era. That logo looks vaguely familiar. 谁是否这里读韩?Как о Cyrillic?

Can't tell if it's aluminum alloy or steel that someone has sanded all the rust off of.

Chombi was close. Is from a Ukrainian bike plant in the USSR. Could be off one of several models Pekopa (Record), Cnopt (Sport), etc. The bikes are usually badged XB3 which is the Cyrillic initials for the plant (kHVZ), Kharkov something.

The first listing has the crank close up. The road are not really sought after like the track bikes.

The forum has had this symbol previously on Russian cycling products. IIRC it is Cyrillic. Looks to be a replica of the Verot 104 chainset with 122BCD.

Later Edit: Bikerider007 beat me to it with far better & more complete information!

We think alike juvela (although you are probably doing things with Mensa when not on here, haha). You will enjoy the oldvelos article, pretty interesting insight. Would make one think they would be more collectible.

I hope the Soyuz spacecraft is better crafted than their bicycle components.

Thanks Tom, I put a lot of lipstick on my track XB3. It's one of my favorite bikes and I ocassionly hop on for a spin. I have so many though, I need to change my name to bikehoarder007.

And someday I shall make it to Jersey for a ride. Hoping this coming holiday season, if not the next.

You remember when I lived in New Jersey? Well, I've moved to New York City, just across the river. I'll surely give you a nice tour of the city, on bike if you prefer.

Typical Soviet construction and manufacture, not very pretty, no highly polished surfaces or fluff. But it gets the job done, maybe not silky smooth though.

Their aircraft were something to see up-close, when the MiG 25 was flown into Japan, and handed over by the defecting pilot, the USAF people were amazed at the exposed riveting on the surfaces not in the air-stream. They didn't effect its aerodynamics, and were easier and cheaper to build.

Our aircraft industry would have expensive, intensively worked smooth surfaces everywhere on the skin, and the engines were massive, brute force power that could be just pulled and thrown away as scrap because they were cheap to make and not highly technical. But, it was a fast climber that made our intel guys lose sleep for a while.

Turned out to not be remotely the threat that was imagined after one just walked away from Israeli Air Force interceptor F-4s in afterburner. Syrian AF markings, see any current relation here?

Those Soyuz capsules keep flying people and supplies up and bringing the 'Nauts back, when its Miller Time.

Reminds of the time when the Americans would develop a special pressurized ball point pen to use in space, when the Russians would just bring a pencil ...
