I love this! I wanted to try drops on my old Giant ATX because I'd like the extra hand positions for rides longer than my commute, but was intimidated by the conversion. Now I'm feeling inspired again.

Just saw your location. It sounds pretty local. Would be willing to kick ideas around in person if you're inclined.

You are so right regarding the hand positions. I hated my mountain bike until I added the perpendicular bar end extensions, which at least gave me a much-needed wrist-neutral position.

All of the bikes I ride regularly are drop-bar bikes except for one which has "all rounder" bars with extensions added to the ends. These bars are almost flat but not quite. I like them for variety just as much as drop bars. Not only can I vary the angles of my wrists, but I can also reach farther forward when I want to.

I saw a very nice, higher end Mercedes the other day in a parking lot. The owner had cleverly taken the Steal Your Face sticker, cut it into pieces and applied it within the boundaries of his M. Benz star on the hood. I did a double take.
