Id Peugeot help
There a Peugeot listed locally and ID'd as a 1984 12 speed. Reynold 501 tubing. But the crank looks odd and I can't make out what word this is on the chainstay, doesn't look like "12 Speed" to me. I can't match it to the online catalogs because the images aren't that good.
Any ideas what it says and what the crank is?

Chainset is Stronglight 104BIS, with a Peugeot stamping, which launched around 1977.
Standard model 104 with Peugeot marking:
https://velobase.com/ViewComponent.as...115&AbsPos=373
There is not enough res in foto to actually "read" the chainstay transfer but the usual marking here is "12 Vitesses" (12 speeds).

501 Reynolds? Probably a PGN10, with the wedge bolt seat post.

Yep, a PGN10. I love mine below, smooth and comfy.

Below is a Competition I believe. A bit far, but a great deal too.

I saw that in the catalog first but with the crank being different and the no english wording on the chainstay I'm trying to figure out exactly what version (country) it is. I thinking Canadian but not sure...

FYI, that looks like a small frame, 52-54cm frame, really for riders up to 5'8".

Dang it, was not trying to point this one out to any local BF'ers cause we've got a foot of new snow and I can't get to town to get it.

LOL, I was just teasing Oddjob. That guys has a couple of lower end vintage bikes beside the Peugeot listed for awhile. Not a lot of real interest.
