I hate that moment....

When you realize your headset has loose ball bearings..

Kactus 01-30-17 01:25 PM

... as they're skittering in all directions across the floor.

Wileyone 01-30-17 01:26 PM

Get out the Metal Detector.

sloar 01-30-17 01:33 PM

My shop floor is like the Bermuda Triangle.

"Alexa - How many ball bearings in (insert brand here) (insert component here)?"

USAZorro 01-30-17 01:40 PM

If you used a magnetic fork...

3alarmer 01-30-17 01:43 PM

.
...when you realize that the fatter tyres you ordered on the internet and just mounted don't quite clear your fork crown without making a slight rubbing noise, and you realize you need to make a choice between filing it out or just letting the damn things wear down a skosh. :(

sloar 01-30-17 01:43 PM

I just assumed a Superbe headset would have caged bearings.

q: what's that rubbing sound?
a: that's my tire saver!

When you find a dent or ding on a bike you were looking to buy.

Lascauxcaveman 01-30-17 02:23 PM

When you find the dent AFTER you've already bought the bike.

When the crank puller breaks free and the crank arm is still in place.

When you stand up on the pedals and realize the stem clamp is not tight.

only open headset with cycle inverted in stand...then no need not worry

Celloplus 01-30-17 02:41 PM

When your riding and testing out a new saddle position and the bolt is not quite tight enough and suddenly you become a counter tenor after hitting a bump in the road....

What's the fun in that?

USAZorro 01-30-17 02:47 PM

the clipless cleat is attached to the sole of your shoe more firmly than the sole is to the upper

SJX426 01-30-17 02:54 PM

The car on the right stopped to wait for you, but the one on the left decided to do a left hook even though you had the right of way.

Best reason I have heard yet to use two bolt seat clamps. (Two - the magic number.)

Speaking of headsets. How many ball bearings go on the top and bottom race? I just pulled mine and it was loose. I have brand new ones sitting here but didnt count how many were on there (fell all over the place)

Lazyass 01-30-17 03:38 PM

I hate that moment when you grandson puts a kitten on your leather Turbo saddle and it puts a deep scratch on it while sliding off

As many as you can fit with a little room. Usually I put them in until the last one is a little too tight, then I take that last one out.

Or...when you realize that you have the tension tighter than your legs can twist out...

Kdogbikes 01-30-17 03:53 PM

I'm with sloar. Bermuda trangle. Same goes for that small space behind the workbench. A lot of small bits back there. ( my bench is a stack of drawers so to heavy to move.
