If anyone from the Puget Sound area is going - and can pass near Renton, there is a 4"x6"x30" box, waiting to go to Mark. Delivery to a I-405 exit is easy, The Landing, Sunset Rd/Hwy900 exit?
(@gugie: box is missing a few things, but maybe a useful tidbit or two, will not include Chpt3 from Paterek Manual)

edit: I hear this yellow thing in the sky may hang around (kinda sorta) for a few days and I haven't practiced my 'take down some trees without hitting the house' skills for a while. Or my 'climb on the roof to de-moss the shingles and gutters' skills. Or my 'pressure wash the driveway + deck' skills. Or my 'hold back the forest encroachment' landscaping skills.

Missed you two on my shout-out, wanted to make sure you're invited as well (see my post, above)

I'm hoping to get down for a ride this summer, but after today's ride I've realized there's a long way to go. Shocking how quickly we can lose our fitness!

We're all out of shape. There will be a stop after 12 miles for carbo loading and caffeination. The ride is flat. The après-ride beer will be cold. @nlerner doesn't come west very often.

I get you, but I'm much more than out of shape - I'm almost broken

PT begins in early April. I hope to know more then. Just sleeping through the night would be an improvement, so fingers crossed.

Rest up, amigo, and do what the PT sez. Slipped disc in my neck about 7 years ago, then one in my back 2 years ago, both times I had a drill sergeant PT that I learned to love for getting my life back.

I like the plan! Debating now between taking the Ross for handling non-dry portions of the route (likely) or saying screw it and bringing the Super Le Tour and banking on the warmer (than Seattle) temperatures having dried out things from Saturday afternoon to 10AM. Choices..........

@northbend @Roger M Hmmm... I'm going to be in Gig Harbor Sunday AM. What time do you think you'll be passing through Tacoma? Or is there even room for third passenger/bike in the rig you're driving?

Other Seattle area folk?

I've been telling Mark that I'm tempted to ride one of those orange Biketown rigs for Sunday's excursion. Might not be C&V enough, however. Maybe I can wrap the handlebars in tweed or twine or twill or something.

Just tie him onto the roof rack.

Along with the bike. But give him a blanket, those tan shorts he's always wearing don't keep him very warm.

Those things weigh like 85 lbs or something...

Take a sartorial clue from my buddy Shawn Granton:

Okay, I do believe I'm going to make this, at least for the earlier part of the day.

So, 10-ish, starting here?:

I think I will probably fred-out on y'all, pull some details together on the Miyata 615, and bring that. No unveiling of the Gitane TdF just yet.

@gugie et al., I'm working at a fever pitch to have my 1985 HOT PINK Univega Alpina Uno MIXTE mountain bike ready! I probably won't go on the 30 mile ride because, as someone mentioned, "we're all out of shape" and some of us more than others!
I'll likely ride to Sunday's after party along the trail to @gugie's for festivities.

Have we decided where to eat on Saturday night yet?

Last week I rode the route with @Insidious C., the route was pretty dry, save a couple of small areas on a trail next to a creek (Fanno Creek Trail). @Velocivixen lives off of it, how's the trail up to Scholl's Ferry from Denny holding up this week? Always a good plan to have fenders this time of year, regardless.

How much of the route is trail? I think I only have 25mm on the Miyata, and no fenders yet.

@johnnyace - I'm pretty sure your route will not be on anything but asphalt. I live near @gugie and am able to ride a regional, asphalt trail from my place to his place vs riding on streets with traffic.

Hope that helps.

A couple of miles, but it's all paved.

On a nice day:

After Snowmaggeden:

Last summer, my wife walking our dog:

When beavers attack (2 years ago):

% gravel/dirt: 0

There may be a couple of very short sections that have a bit of water on them on this trail, nothing you can't ride slowly through and keep your backside reasonably dry.

Ah, gotcha, a CIVILIZED trail! No problem, then. Thanks!
