Great day for a visit to the PDXr’s today for a ride with nlerner.

We left with 9, 79pmooney left for more climbing and miles after the pastry stop (on a fixie!). The cafe was pretty full, everyone in Portlandia had massive cabin fever and was out enjoying the sunshine.
To 79pmooney's question, we stopped for beer and food at The Old Market Pub on Garden Home. If you ever go there, order the British Bombay IPA. A If they have any, post a review. They were out of it when we were there.

I was more bummed-out by my broken Tektro brake lever. Those were brand-new!

Thank you, again @gugie for putting this all together (and for getting my Paramount fixed ahead of time!). Riding out in the country was just wonderful. Even the headwinds that would whip up didn't bother me really. I was initially wary of riding country roads with a very large speed differential between bike and car/truck, and thankfully nothing happened. I would like to think that me riding furthest back with my red jacket and flashing tail light helped, but it was probably our large hi-vis group and general awareness by the drivers of cyclists being everywhere.
With all the rocks and pebbles and generally menacing debris on the sides of the road, a lot because of this winter, puncture-resistant tires are a very good idea! Glad I had my Gatorskins.

Addressed to Wildwood prior to living in Washington, it would appear, and shipped from Henry James prior to the company moving to Portland (Redondo Beach earlier). What could it be?
Open it up, a buncha tubes and lugs! The bottom bracket was brazed to the seat tube, and a couple of other tubes had been mitered. This looks like a mid-build:
Everything you need to build a frame except a head tube and bottom lug, it would appear. Two rolls of silver filler! Two sets of pre-would silver filler for socket brazing the rear dropouts as well, a buncha braze-on bits, brake bridge, stickers, cool stuff! Thanks Wildwood! Now I need to hear the backstory...did someone start to build a frame years ago, and hung onto it for all these years thinking, one day...?
Some posh leather as well, could be used for a dent or chain gaurd, mud flaps, hmmm..

You would use it as a dent guard (spelled it right this time), not to remove one. It's not uncommon to put a wrap of tape on a bike where the handlebars might swing around and hit it. I've seen people sew some leather around the top tube just behind the top lug. This accomplishes the same thing.
