PDX, March 19, nlerner is in town and ready to ride
Yessiree folks, the man of a hundred Raleighs past and present will be in town the week before for a conference, he's extending his stay over the weekend so he can take in the sights and sounds of Weird Portland. I think it will still be a bit chilly to introduce him to The Naked Bike Ride, but perhaps we can find this guy:

At any rate, he's bringing his riding gear, including rainwear (Boston gets a bit of the wet stuff as well), so rain or shine, let's plan a ride!
No details yet, but he'll need to pick an arrow out of my quiver, so perhaps he drives the rental out to Atelier Gugie to visit the scene of the crime on his Raleigh International, I feed him some grub to make up for it, and we start from there. Or maybe something completely different. There may be a dinner or two to eat, meet, and greet around that weekend. Or quite possibly he takes one look around and decides it's a lot better just knowing us on the interwebs.
More than a month away as I randomly whack my keyboard, so plenty of time to plan or scare him off.
Who's very tentatively in? Might even get some visitors from points north to head down to see how an east coast rider handles our hilly terrain (prolly kick our collective behinds, but if we can get @northbend to come down, we've got a secret weapon).

I've seen a lot of wipeouts in downtown, people crossing over those Max rails on slick streets. So remember, if you do the naked bike ride you've got no protection on, so ride s-l-o-w!

Thanks for organizing, @gugie! I very much look forward to meeting and riding with some of you Portland-area folks. I've actually never been to your fair city, and I'll have spent the previous four days holed up on conference rooms and convention halls, so being outdoors and on a bike--rain or shine--will be most welcome.

We can contribute with some standard bearing, west coast wines. More than one reason to join in at Portlandia events. 2012 in California reds was quite good, though maybe not fully ready. Brisket I leave to others. Gugie is a CA transplant = maybe a wine guy?
