1977 Restored Raleigh Team Bike- Reynolds 753
21 Attachment(s)
Hi all, just posting my Raleigh Team bike built at Raleigh's Ilkeston shop. Built with components used by the powerhouse Raleigh team of the time. Cinelli bars, stem and saddle, Campy components including Super Record headset and rear derailleur (lightened with aluminum bolts and Bullseye pulley wheels), Maillard freewheel, Mavic Record Du Monde rims (32 hole). The team used white bar tape but not the Benotto that is on my bike.

Beautiful, and in great shape. Enjoy!

Beautiful bike! It must be fast (red). How does it ride?
|
Oh wow! That's an amazing bike. It looks so pristine.
|
Fantastic and faithful job. Have you weighed it? :)

753 ******...collector quality. I got a 82 Raleigh Team 531, clean except for slight top tube dent in it. Makes it a little easier to turn it into a quality rider and price was right.

Thanks for sharing this beauty. I too am curious to hear how it rides.
|
Beautiful Ride!

Not yet. I need to get the bikes in to weigh them. The only one I have weighed is the blue Raleigh I previosly posted that came in just under 17.5 pounds. This one does not have the extreme lightweight components the blue one had.

I should weigh my 531 SDBU. I'd guess that's around 19lbs. It has several modern components.

That's very nice!

Gorgeous! Well done. Thanks for sharing. Refinished?
That RD is a real gem. Which model is the Maillard FW and does it have alloy cogs? Was the frame spaced to 120 or 126? |
Very nice Team Raleigh you have there, those first generation SR Campagnolo components don't show up very often.
Is this all original, and not a respray or restoration? If its all original you have a true time capsule, or you have one spot on, professionally executed restoration job with this bike. Bill |
What kind of bar tape is that? Where can i find it?
|
Lovely! The condition is incredible! Is there a story behind the bike/frame? i.e. how did it survive the decades with so little damage?

Very nice! Love the build and faithfulness.

Stunningly beautiful rebuild of an iconic bike. One of the most advanced racing bikes of the era.
|
Love that fork crown with the long tangs. First gen super record is also very nice indeed. Excellent stead. Very interested in a ride report especially as it compares to some of your other bikes.
|
Looks like it came out of a time capsule. Lovely.
|
Nicely done. What is the SB number. I own a 753 Team Pro also...SB1016
