200GS shifter part needed

anyone have an old, broken 200 GS shifter? I need just the bottom center screw as shown on pic (not the clamp bolt). Trying to help a homeless friendly person on my commute. She can't afford a new shifter. It works fine when I put the screw in from the other side, just missing the screw. The screw is I think 4mm and very short...maybe 4-5 mm with a very wide head

I may have that part. I repaired or replaced my wife's 200GS shifter last year. I just can't remember exactly which I did, so I'll have to check my inventory this evening and get back to you.

That would be great! Thanks for checking.

I'm sorry. After inspecting her bike this evening, I had repaired the shifter instead of replacing it. I do apologize. So wanted to be helpful.

A rack bolt or bottle cage bolt will fit that

I'll bet Daddy is right. There are only so many sizes. I started, long ago, tossing all spare metric bolts into a jar (empty peanut butter jar) so I now have a pretty decent collection of metric bolts of various sizes and heads. And when I strip a BSO from the recycling station I save all the hardware as well as any components that look like they'd be useful. I rarely have trouble finding a replacement for a missing bolt. And shortening a bolt to the length needed is easy. Measure twice, cut once. Making one longer takes more time......

I have similar collections of metric nuts and metric washers.

It is just an M4. I found one at Ace. I just stacked a few washers to shorten the bolt. Worked great. I thought the head was a specialty size. I added locktite.

Thanks for checking! Much appreciated.
