Calling all nor'easterners...

Anybody that still has internet service after the snow-pounding, call in...

Add to that midwesterner's in the north...

Yep, still have internet here in west. Mass. KB

nlerner 03-14-17 03:07 PM

Power has stayed on here all day in Boston, but it sounds like Cape Cod had close to hurricane force winds. rootboy?

The roads are a mess, so I'm not going anywhere today, but no problems with utilities or anything. By the time the system passes, I may have about a foot of snow total. It's the most snow we've had in a while, but nothing particularly noteworthy. Friends of mine east of here near Binghamton apparently got a lot more snow than I did.

Somerville MA is just turning into a slushy mess now

Pemetic2006 03-14-17 03:26 PM

Still have power in Harrisburg, PA. 17 inches as of 5PM with only an additional dusting to come. It will be windy with lows in the high teens tonight. In late Feb we had 5 days in the 70's.

vtchuck 03-14-17 03:41 PM

Just another March snow event here in the Great White North. Little over a foot so far, getting breezy.

Haven't seen a plow since about 10AM. Local school was on, but kids sent home at noon.

FBinNY 03-14-17 03:48 PM

It's just snow, and other than inconvenience, no big deal.

I look at snow as nature's way of providing. I don't get out on the bike enough during the winter, so snow ensures that I get enough exercise.

Problem is that, once opened, the local streets will still be treacherous, so I'll probably curtail any riding until I see dry black top.

Am presently in southwestern Florida. Sixty miles this week so far.

My son is currently handling snow-clearing duties back in Fleetwood.

Good job, young man!

USAZorro 03-14-17 03:52 PM

My 1/2" melted a little after noon.

dailycommute 03-14-17 04:03 PM

Did manage a commute home yesterday, cloudy in the upper 20s. Just shoveled 4-5in with another 6-12 on the way. Guess the xc skis are coming back out for another couple of weeks!

rhm 03-14-17 04:05 PM

It was nasty in central NJ, but clearing up now. There is blue sky on the western horizon. I'm sore from all the shoveling, though.

stardognine 03-14-17 04:09 PM

They were calling for 18" here, but it's more like 6". But it's been stopping & starting a lot, so could get worse, I guess. ;)

xiaoman1 03-14-17 04:11 PM

Just back from the beach.....I really feel sorry for all BFM's on the east coast. :winter2:

Sir_Name 03-14-17 05:00 PM

Ct shore has internet and power, maybe 6" of snowfall turned into 2" of compacted slush after a couple hours of sleet and rain. Just finished getting the cars set to roll out of the driveway tomorrow am.

Vonruden 03-14-17 05:53 PM

Lost power at the Jersey shore, heavy winds however nary an inch of snow...

noglider 03-14-17 05:57 PM

It was nasty out when I walked the dog in the morning. Ice pellets stung my face.

And we've been inside all day. No shoveling duties, because we're in an apartment building. We got less snow than predicted, though it's pretty messy. I won't be riding for a few days. I have the subway to take me to work.

higgins617 03-14-17 06:22 PM

Have a freshly "finished" Fuji espree and Crisscross drop conversion that both need a shakedown run.... doesn't look like that's happening

clubman 03-14-17 06:27 PM

6 inches just dropped down quickly but the temp is going up. Never know what you'll wake up to. If you don't like the weather in Nova Scotia, just wait an hour...

jamesdak 03-14-17 06:29 PM

LOL, I've been putting up with that for months out herein Utah. Enjoy it while it lasts.

:p:p:p

My sidewalk in January.

I grew up in rural Nova Scotia. Remember waking up one morning with both Cars covered in Snow. We had almost 5 Feet of Snow overnight. Wouldn't trade those memories for anything. Can't wait to go back this Summer.

Brooklyn is just a little sloppy but fine otherwise. I have to go up to Boston tomorrow so hopefully it isn't too bad up there.
