All but one can be rideable within 15 minutes. 2 immediately, 6 after airing up the tires, and one after installing pedals. The Raleigh Competition is still waiting for me to add decals and build back up.

8/9 currently rideable.

The UE-8 needs a cotter pin filed correctly, something that's been vexing me.

I was down to 5/9 recently but just got my Look 753 (thorough overhaul/rust treatment/paint retouching), Look KG86 (separated bonded lug), and Parkpre MTB (snapped RD) all back in service within the past week.

I'm not counting my '72 PX-10 which is a long term repaint project and hasn't been rideable since the day I bought it and promptly stripped it.

Thank you for asking this. My rideable ratio used to be too low. I just took a look, and I see that N-1 bikes are rideable. Only the Raleigh 20 long-term project bike is not rideable. Once it's rideable, I'll sell it, as it doesn't suit me.

My wife and I took a vacation upstate this week, and I rode all three of my bikes there: the tandem (with her, of course), my Super Course, and my McLean.

Mine - 2/2
Girlfriend - 2/2
Oldest daughter - 1/2 moving from 24" to 26er wheel bike and need brake pads to complete.
Son - 1/2 gathering parts for his move to a Bianchi Kodiak 26er
Youngest daughter - 1 /1

What's funny is I am Jones'n hard for a road bike project for myself. Just can't find a frameset that's in both my size and price range.

After reading this thread I realize I am in a minority. I have several riders ready to go, I also have collectibles that I don't ride and don't feel guilty for not riding. Then there are several waiting for the right part at the right price. I have been known to take at least five years to complete some projects and have bikes that have passed that milestone already.

Personal bikes that I intend to keep would be 3 out of 5.

1. '02 Mercian Vincitore custom road fixed-gear
2. '82 Mercian Colorado
3. '71 Gitane TdF fixed-gear conversion (ridden all week at the beach, and freshly washed and lubed)

Given five minutes or so to select and install a saddle from the saddle bin, and we can add

4. '75 Motobecane Grand Touring - though, given an hour or two and time to swap out the stem and brake levers and fit toe clips, it could be a really nice ride

Given 3-5 hours of time, I could probably hit 5 of 5 -

5. '74-ish Allegro - currently a frame, fork, headset, bottom bracket, centerpull hangers, seat post and binder bolt, but with most of the rest of the bike in boxes around it ....

Now, the stuff for sale is another matter -

Nine out of 12 are instantly ride-tastic. Numbers 10 & 11 are just bones and the Browning will be ride-tastic with about 45 minutes of bare knuckle brawling.

I am an unusual 100%(5 for 5) at the moment, but the Bridgestone is going to be sold and the parts transferred to a new project just as soon as it arrives.

My goal for the summer is to have all seven ridable, and at the same time no less. Each currently has one or more 'somethings' needing attention...I'll leave it at that.

12 are rideable and capable of finishing a century ride. Why own 'em if you can't enjoy 'em?

De Rosa Professional , Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra, Pinarello Gavia, Schwinn Paramount, Motobecane Grand Record, Peugeot PX10, Serotta Nova X, Simoncini Cyclocross Special, Raleigh Roker, Origin8 monstercross, Pedal Force CG2 and CX2
