Bummer!

Last weekend I went out for a ride on the newly put together 1989 Bridgestone MB-1. It was wonderful. Me and the family also sat outside for lunch and dinner. First real days of spring. 18 Celsius.

This weekend... That is the garden furniture in the back ground. -1 Celsius. I am a little disappointed at the way spring is working this year.

I guess it's all relative.

I complain about the weather- and it could alway be worse.

Over the last 2 weeks we've had on and off nice days separated by days of snow. 4 inches of snow followed by a 65°F day, to be repeated until spring decides to go away into summer.

Almost the same place...

I am very happy living in Sweden and life is good. But sometimes the contrast between winter and summer really puts me down. It sort of is a on and off living. And spring brings this to the point. I put up with winter and hold out. Then spring comes and I can live to the full extent again. Then it takes a step backwards and that is really hard on me. One can think that after over 50 years of this I would be used to it - but no. It is the same every year.

edit and PS. Yes I know the cables are too long. It is already fixed. THAT is one of the benefits of long winters. A lot of time to do things in the hobby work shop. The picture showing un-shortened original Campag length.

Wow. Yesterday we had 89degF, which translates to 31.6degC.

But that De Rosa sure looks nice!

Feeling your pain up here in N Michigan. Our weekend was 70some degrees and today it's spitting snow.

I understand the frustration of not being able to get outdoors and truly experience Spring, but boy - that is a beautiful picture nonetheless :)

I like the De Rosa, too!

Still, it is a pretty snow picture. Not trying to be funny, I really like the picture.

I wish I could go visit my relatives in Finland.

What is that white stuff all over everything?, said the guy in Florida:innocent:.

Another "Nice De Rosa" vote here too:thumb:. Very well executed, despite the tardiness:twitchy: in shortening those brake cables.

I visited Stockholm a couple of summers ago - what a wonderful and beautiful city! I thought at the time that winter probably gives the city a different kind of beauty but wasn't sure if I could handle the long duration and , as you describe, the interminable transition to spring.

I suppose cross country skiing and Zwift would be one way to handle it.

I visited Finland for two week at the end of June, 2006. I have family there, also. It was 85 f in Helsinki! No A/C in the hotel, of course. They weren't used to that much heat.

Looks like Maine, nothing like some spring snow for poor mans fertilizer! I never appreciated TS Eliot until I moved here as rightfully "April is the cruelest month".......

I always thought that was about baseball. :p

jetboy 04-18-17 03:54 PM

its colder in summer than winter around here.

dweenk 04-18-17 04:14 PM

I think Sweden's climate would be tolerable for me (Mid-Atlantic USA), but I don't know if I could handle the short winter days.

Hummer 04-19-17 05:59 PM

I can sympathize. All our snow disappeared and then Easter weekend snow and snow.

Will winter ever end?
