Help with old Univega

a friend just gave me an old Univega 10 speed. I am trying to ascertain its age and am wondering whether it is worthwhile to spend a few dollars to spruce it up. It is a light blue frame (steel I am pretty sure) and says "super 10" on the cross tube with a "Light touring" sticker on the down tube. Has Shimano "Altus" derailleurs front and back. I'd like to fix it up for a commuter bike (13 miles a day to work and back) Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!!

I guess early-mid eighties. Fine commuter bike. Good to fix up as is, if your thinking component upgrades it gets a little dicey.

Moose,
Thanks for the info. I was thinking I might try to upgrade but not if it is going to be difficult. I normally ride a Specialized Stumpjumper mountain bike but I thought the roadie might be a nice switch to get to work. My wife also rides a mountain bike and this is a way I can keep up with her! :)
