Is this a waste? C. Itoh

I'm thinking about getting this mostly for the bar ends, drops, and center pulls. Total waste? I'd part out the rest, maybe donate the frame? Thoughts?

I was hoping to find something like this for 45 bucks, but the addition of Barcons makes me think of offering $85 and see what happens.

It gives the term "suicide levers" added value.

It's nothing special. Offer $50 and see if the seller takes it.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Cheers,

Van

Looks like a good parts bike. And you get a pair of new tires too.

Nice looking, but kinda cheap. Maybe worth $110, but I'd say probably closer to $75.

C. Itoh marketed a full range of bicycle, most being manufactured by Bridgestone. This appears to be a mid-range Itoh HSP, circa 1972-1974. It appears to be mostly original, though the aluminum rims appear to have been replaced with steel. The frame is hi-tensile steel but should be butted, so it should be a bit lighter than you might expect.

The price is not unreasonable for the market but since it will be a donor bicycle I'd want it for $50-$75. FYI, original price in 1973 was $175 US.

The derailleurs are pretty good, too. No one would complain if you parted it out.

I'd be more inclined to put flat bars and stem shifters on it and flip it...
