Battaglin frame in the mail

G'day all,

I just picked up this Battaglin on Ebay, will post new pics when she gets here. Does anyone know what the original groupset on this was? Was thinking of keeping her original, I know they came with chrome forks which is goign to be a pain in the a to find.

Cheers

Welcome to BF

Paint looks pristine in that Battaglin...could this frameset have been retro fitted by the previous owner since it has sti bosses installed?

Theres a 1 inch chrome Battaglin fork on ebay for 112 obo plus 35 shipping from Romania.

Cheers for that. Yes it was retrofitted with a newer groupset however I plan on taking her back to original if I can get all the info and parts. If not at least a time period correct one, although the allure of a newer campy group does tickle a little bit, especially a full silver one.

Nice lead on the fork, definitely a good place to start, will it be a 1 inch for sure? Or should I wait for it to arrive before ordering?

I would definitely wait till the frame arrives to get the proper measurements.

At least for now you I have a lead to a fork.

Ten speed imports bought alot of these frames in the US back in the eighties. Alot of people built them up with whatever they wanted or what was on sale at the local bike shop. I had a late eighties model with Mavic parts...gasp!! I guess you could build it up anyway you desire...but Campy parts always look the part on Italian frames.

That is commemorating Stephen Roche's '87 World Championship. While else frames were fitted out to customer demand, I would want to hang whatever he rode it with. Here's a pic I came up with on a quick search; looks like it might be C Record to me.
