Help me with this Trek 2100 on CL!

Hey guys. I'm 5 10 with around a 32 inch inseam. Would a 58 cm 2100 be likely to fit? Also, what should I look out for when inspecting the frame? He says he doesn't know what year it is. Lastly, $170 a good price?

Can't post a URL yet :/

"Trek 2100 road bike
23" or 58cm carbon frame (for person 5'7" or taller)
700c alloy Shimano wheels with quick releases, 23m tires
front wheel is black/chrome with blue/black tire
rear wheel is chrome with black tire
7 rear wheel gears cassette and 2 front crank gears
Look clipless pedals
all components are Shimano 105!
ride smoothly, brake and shift smoothly, wheels are true, ready to ride.
Don't know what year.
No trade"

Thanks!

Well, first off, it might fit. 32" inseam like on your pants? Or 32" leg length? Pubic bone height or standover height will give better sizing ideas.

58 will PROBABLY fit.

As for the bike, its 20+ years old and carbon and aluminum glued together. Check the joints carefully for anything that looks like corrosion. I have glued bikes much older so don't think I'm knocking them. Component wise, just take it for a spin and make sure everything works. After this long it'll need stripped, cleaned and lubed anyway.
This era, 7 speed 105 will probably be down tube shifters, if its STI levers, make sure they shift up and down the range.

What colors are the forks, lugs and stays? That'll be an easy way to date it but most likely from mid-1990s.

For $170, its a great deal as long as everything is functional.

As skenry says, great deal for $170 if there is no frame damage.
Look at the main tubes for any imperfections that suggest impact.

My '96 2100 is a 58cm with a 32.5 inch standover. The top tube is 22.5 inches, center to center.

I'm 6'2", 34" inseam and it fits pretty well with a 110mm stem.
My guess is you'll need a much shorter stem, because IIRC it came with a 120mm.
