Suntour SVX VX S compatibility

Hi,

Went to the community bike shop for some wrenching today. Mostly successful, nice new shifters installed, etc...

However, the coil spring in my suntour VX S snapped (my fault). Long shot, but does anyone know if the coil spring assembly from the SVX -- which I understand to be a renovation of the VX S -- is the same?

Cheers!

Suntour derailleurs are maddeningly slightly different in parts, so I would tend to doubt it. But I have a few parts Vx derailleurs. PM me your address and I'll send you a coil spring.

That is a wonderful offer, though I am UK based and fear I'm out of sensible mailing range (?). In fact, in any case can't even seem to get the coil spring alone out of the assembly (with hex bolt at the top) in which it fits, so I'd need to source the whole assembly to screw in.

However, what you say suggests that VX S and VX have the same coil spring assembly:
SunTour Vx S derailleur (2500)
SunTour Vx derailleur (2200)

and if true, even that is precious information for my search... they "look the same" but as you say, Suntour can be maddening.
