I'm sure the bare breasts are not intentional. This is England, 1946, and Meccano Magazine, remember? The picture below gives a good impression of what the magazine was about and at whom it was aimed. Written by one of their main contributors, called "Spanner". Check out young master Meggit of Ipswich, one of the "keen Meccanoites" that make up the audience. They're into aeroplanes, motor cars and vertical oscillating steam engines. Breasts? Not unless they could haul 20 tons, fly at over 200 mph and were nickel-plated to withstand corrosion.

Thats funny because I'm pretty sure the bare chested woman was intentional. Especially for the age group that magazine appealed to. Regardless of their interest in mechanicals they're still boys after all. Heck I didn't even see the bananas.

Confession: I read this and thought to myself, "Really? I didn't see any Austro Daimlers." :o

When I was the age of that kid, (late 40's), BSA also meant Boy Scouts of America. Looks like he's wearing a Cub Scout cap too. Don

That was one thought. The true name of the company was Birmingham Small Arms. Yes, a British Company. They also made a very good motorcycle. :)

"BSA" (concerning bicycles and motorcycles)
= "Bi*ch Stopped Again"
