Farm To Fork Fondo Maine- After ride pic dump
So just got back home after the weekend having spend most of yesterday up in Freeport Maine for Wrenegade Sports' Farm to Fork Fondo ride. This is one of six rides in the "series", and all look to highlight the local farms in the areas surrounding the start location. The key to this being Aid stations stopping off at a few different ones along the way offering up a full spread of farm fresh foods to try!
They offer ride options from 10ish up to around 100 miles, so there is a good variety to help please most riders. And the day is wrapped up with live music and a huge buffet(This time with lobster and muscles right out of Freeport Bay), as well as local beer!
It was a fantastic time and I'm now planning on taking part in the Berkshires iteration at the end of September as well. The course was relatively tame, save for a few hills that made me wish for a wide range freewheel. The host farm was beautiful, and right on the ocean. Thanks to the example set by a few local kids we had a nice jump off a low bridge to cool off for the ride home too.
Only bummer was the real lack of old iron in the ride, I had one of maybe 5 bikes I saw dating out of the 2000s. Hope you guys don't mind the pic dump

Sorry for the cellphone quality pictures, also forgot to mention that the Half Moon Jug Band who came up from Portland to play were an absolute blast. Fantastic day all around!

I saw a sign for this event (wrenegade sports) while riding to Portland the day before. I wish I had known about it sooner. Which distance did you ride?

We did the 12 mile route as we signed up last minute and out of shape. Uncle and cousin joined us on MTBs. Likely doing the 30ish route for the Berkshires ride

I grew up in Freeport, pictures like this remind me of home. I'm assuming Wolf's Neck Farm is in there? Looks fun!
