The air quality here in Idaho is just brutal. I think we are catching smoke from several directions. The Boise airport is currently reporting 1.25 miles visibility in smoke.
I read an article this morning that the Sperry Chalet in Glacier NP burned in the Sprague Fire. Sad news.

Yep, I'm in the dark purple area marked as "Hazardous" with an air quality index of 374, whatever that means.
Oddly, much of the Cascades and Eastern Oregon are showing up as moderate, where Cycle Oregon was supposed to ride. But it is also a good indication of how hard it is to actually escape from the smoke. Even the Tillamook and Lincoln City area is now showing up with elevated levels of smoke.
I'm still hoping for rain this evening. I suppose I should get to doing some organizing outside.

I haven't been following the fires closely. I don't think it was enough rain to deeply soak to the ground, but even a little rain should help cool off the fires a bit, and help with containment, as well as helping the trees survive the fire, and thus reducing the destructiveness of the fires.

Most of the smoke disappeared a week ago, but then it came back yesterday morning, but cleared up in the afternoon only to return again today.
A week of rain is on the way, hopefully to help with both the smoke, and douse the fires.
This is the sun that I took one of the smoky days.

I was just about to say, the smoke returned here to Seattle as well. Bummer. The blinds were pulled, but the light filtering through them looked funny this morning. You can just kind of tell, can't ya sometimes?
It smells like weird hot dogs (I like hot dogs, for the record) right now (1:00 AM), but it didn't smell weird at midnight when I went putting around for 40-ish minutes on the Paramount. Glad for the rain to knock this smoke stuff out. That and much more importantly, the fires. Not ready for all-rain-all-the-time just yet. Rain bike is ready nevertheless.
