Austro-Daimler Puch SLE - bit of rough shape
Alright I went to see the ADP SLE yesterday and get a feel for the bike, see if it was worth messing around with. I think at $185 it's not but you all are the collective experts on the matter.
Yes it's 531 Reynolds but it feels a tidbit small for me though I could certainly make it work. The real deterrent was that it seemed the paint, decals, even the break levers were beat with an ugly stick so I don't think that a restore is within my powers and therefor my ability to recoup costs down the road seems limited

Thanks for stopping bye!

I couldn't get your links to work but if you feel it's not your size and is too rough, skip it. For $200 you should be able to find a bike you're excited about. Keep looking!

Here is my AD Olympian.
Rough decals, some paint chips.
Great rider.
I'd take it unless you are the picky picky anti-patina type of personality.
But 'ya gotta want it, or Pass.

Thanks for posting. You guys know I am a sucker for Austrian bikes, even if mine are from Vienna instead of Graz.

Decals in bad shape are pretty much typical of C&V Austro - Daimlers.... looks like this on'e's suffering from the same.... Too bad cause A-Ds have some of the most beautiful looking graphics in bikedom.....
Replacements are available out there but a clear coat over the decals might also be a good idea.

Yeah, that looks like good deal now that I see pics. But I, too, am a sucker for Austo-Daimlers.
Bikes a little too small can often be made to fit. Too large can't.

Thank you all for your input, I will continue to mull. In the meantime I have a lead on a '85 Trek 760 for about the same price, so depending on condition I think I will try to secure that bike.

If it's only a tad small and can be made to fit, offer $150 and see what you get. If the Trek fits for sure and is in good condition, that's the route I would go - can't lose there.
