Back in The Saddle

Hi Everyone...

As many of you know, I have been battling major health issues over the last few years. These have limited my ability to be on the bike. Well...this morning...

I took a three mile ride on the Big Creek Greenway! It felt so good to be back in the saddle and outside! It has been over a year (June 2016) since I was able to ride any distance outside...so today is a GREAT day! Now...to be honest...certain parts hurt like crazy! :) I am sure all of you know to what I refer! But...who cares? It felt great.

And...as the saying goes...if there is no picture, then it did not happen...well...here you go...

Good for you, my friend. I know the feeling well, every time I get well.

My mileage in no longer at all high, but I appreciate every inch of every mile.

Congratulations!

Recovery takes longer as we get older, but I’d does happen, and you’ll appreciate the experiences even more.

Way to go man. The adventure continues. You are an inspiration.

Maybe in GA the weather will give you a long Fall riding season.

if 3 mi felt great, in a month 20 miles might feel even better, literally.

GTBruiser 09-21-17 01:07 PM

That's terrific!!!

Sir_Name 09-21-17 01:11 PM

That's great, congrats!!

SJX426 09-21-17 01:18 PM

Congrats and I concur with others. Even when I don't feel like making the effort to get ready for a ride, when I take it, I always appreciate the joy associated with it even when it is with pain!

non-fixie 09-21-17 01:29 PM

Happy news! :)

Kevindale 09-21-17 01:36 PM

The long journey back always starts with the first small steps. I've been there myself, and I know the satisfaction you're feeling. :thumb:

I'm happy for you. Time to try a leather saddle? ;)

qcpmsame 09-22-17 02:19 AM

Best news I have read in a long while! Those three miles probably mean more to you than completing a century event. The two I managed in 2011 were painful but worth every ounce of hurt it took. Congrats on the ride.

Bill
