Raleigh 150 MTB

I'd like to replace my original and slightly noisy BB with a new Hollow version, that will allow me to go to a more modern Crank set.

Is there a way to find out what the original BB specs are before purchasing the new version, without taking the old one out, as I don't want to be bike less for any longer than necessary.

Thanks

Bring it to a local shop and have them tell you what you're going to need

That was my first thought, but the last independent shop closed here 18 months ago.

Just thought Raleigh might have a reference table for standard parts, I could find nothing with my searches .... just thought I'd ask.
