Mystery Schwinn Super Sport on eBay
Did Schwinn ever substitute framsets across models? There is currently a mid-to-late 80's Super Sport listed on eBay. It appears to be the Scarlet Red color and original. The frameset looks like a Prelude due to dropout adjusters and eyelets along with the shorter seatstay caps that don't fold over the seat lug. I would post a link but I'm on my mobile phone.
So is this a Prelude or a Super Sport?

I didn't find one matching this frame in the catalogs. Eyelets, adjustable dropouts, and color are not a match for any year that I could tell. But the red and white 87's aren't in the catalog either so....

Catalogs were sent out to printers months ahead of actual production and are more of a "what we think we will be making" rather than a "what we actually made" document. They are certainly a lot better than nothing, but not always super accurate. My 1987 Prologue was not in the 1987 catalog, yet the 1988 catalog called it a second year model.
