Need Dura Ace brake set?

Well, now that I have fully reCampified Susan’s Windsor, I have the Dura Ace brakes that were on it left over. In fine shape, I don’t think I even see a scratch on them. Black hoods on the levers. I’ve despaired of ever being able to post my own photos on this website, so I stole a photo from steel-vintage.com although Susan’s look cleaner.

So, they go. The cost: Zero; I’ll pass them along to a needy fellow forum user. I do ask that you don’t simply sell them on for the $$$. I’ll even pay ground shipping shipping to the Lower 48 only. So, post a picture of your bike in need of the Dura Ace brakes, and PM me.

By the way, not listing in the C&V Sales sub-forum, I was even willing to pay the $12 membership up charge to do that but was not going to get a PayPal account just for this. Sorry.

That is quite awesome of you. I could use them for sure but I'll let someone else make the play. Someone might be struggling to afford some parts.

What a cool gesture. I'd love to have the brakes but I know honestly someone here could use them more than me.

Well, you didn't post a photo or send me a PM, but I'd say you qualify as someone who would provide a good home for them. Get in touch with me -- and be patient; I'm between Amazon orders and I need a good shipping box.

OK, the brakes are claimed.

Sounds like they'll contribute to the final Dura-Aceification of a bike.

Thanks. Hey, I get good advice here all the time; no harm in a little payback.

Glad the brakes found a good home. Interestingly the brake calipers on my bike - Cane Creek Ti 200SLs - were generously given to me by a member of another forum about a year ago. I use them daily as I ride quite a bit, so they found a good home as well.

These are first generation Dura-Ace brake calipers, circa 1973-1977. Your build would use 4th generation New Dura-Ace, introduced in 1985. Right level, wrong era, by at least a decade.

99.44% sure you are right. Heard from Barrettscv, so I guess these are "back on the market".

So is there a 1964 tiger in your quiver as well?

I'll post a pic when they arrive and get installed, in the meantime here's the PO's build, I only got the frame.

Full disclosure, I'm not claiming poverty either, but many projects make for great need and I'm never selling anything if I can help it.

Sorry!

I got that from a dead guy (estate sale), and that's how eventually someone will get it from me.
