My name is Mike, I'm a Bikeaholic
I'm seriously out of control. I can't pass up an 80s road bike. I have Schwinn Peleton 2 pink preludes a super sport, Treks, Centurion Ironmans, Meile, Bridgestone, univega, Raleigh, Bianchi and that's just the road bikes. I'm always looking for more. In fact, I'm headed out to pick up and 88 Prologue in a bit. How do I stop this? Should I stop this. I'm having a great time.

Been there and overcame it with sheer determination and will power. Been in recovery for about 15 years and am to the point where I just turned down a World Voyageur in completely stock condition including the rubber. Orang-ish color, too. My favorite color! You will get there. Maybe.

Try getting 70's road bikes. Maybe you'll stop with the 80's pick up.

You are welcome to a BBA meeting anytime.
- We admit we were powerless over bikes - that our lives had become unmanageable.
- Came to believe that a pedal power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
- Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of Merckx as we understood Him.
- Made a searching and fearless inventory of our parts shelves.
- Admitted to Merckx, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our Campagnolo habit.
- Were entirely ready to have Merckx remove all these defects of character.
- Humbly asked Merckx to remove our shortcomings.
- Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to all in the peloton.
- Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
- Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong about Campagnolo indexing gears promptly admitted it.
- Sought through ebay and meditation to improve our conscious contact with Merckx as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to spin that gear out.
- Having had a good awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to bikeaholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

I would only consider it a problem if you keep collecting and never ride them or never work on them. If that is the case I would consider it hoarding.

Fools! Merckx does not remove the shortcomings of others. He exploits them and lays them bare for all to see. He probably anticipated the weaknesses your group and started his line of bicycles just to demonstrate his dominance over you.

80's Japanese bikes with Tange 1 frames are the bomb! I topped out at around a dozen. Will trade or sell. But, won't hold on to more than 12 at a time. But..................if I come across a 80's model Shogun with a Tange 1 or Tange 2 frame for $100 or $125 - I'm gonna go ahead and get it anyhow.
