Gotta love black

Here's my humble contribution, an unknown Asian frame from '77

I've painted the fluting on the stem and cranks black to match the bike

Ah, the Ford Capri! I actually had one of those: a mk II. All white (and I really mean all white, with diagonal red, white and blue stripes - the Dutch flag -and a shag carpet inside). Got it for €50, sold it for €75 a few days later, because none of my friends would speak to me anymore.

Back to black bikes: I just realized I have another one, languishing somewhere at the bottom of my parts bin. It's a Batavus something or other. Looking at the pic again, I'm thinking it might be a nice entrant to the latest clunker challenge, as I paid €25 for it:

Holey moley. Not to mention my Austro Daimler entry above used to be yours too!

1) Looks like the smaller Schwinn might be extra. PM if ever selling.
2) Do you have a photo gallery of the Confente? Edit: Found them. Just wow.

Nice Elance, how wide of a tire can it fit?

Thanks. Good question, I've only gone up to 28mm which are on it now. Certainly 32, looks like 35mm would be pushing it.

The first bike I ever bought, which sad to say I no longer have: Centurion Le Mans RS, mostly black. I'd really love to still have that one in the garage. Honestly I never appreciated it or even rode it like I would now. (I also didn't know *anything* about bikes -- no Internet back then.) This is someone else's bike, but mine was just like that, except I think he's upgraded his brake levers and maybe seat and rewrapped his bars.

And my latest, new to me a few weeks ago, a steel 1992 Trek 720 which I hope will hold up to grinding up and down hills into the future. Still needs outfitting.
