Oh I remember, slot cars, models, casual fan of the real thing and I remember drooling over a JPS Norton at Yamaha East in PDX, had a brochure for a long time, and then going across the street and drooling at chrome Paramounts at Gateway Schwinn.
All long gone but great memories.

The fairest black bike of all my black bikes - 1974 Schwinn Paramount P15 graced with Superbe.

Second fairest is my 1985 Cannondale ST400 with 7800 Dura-Ace.

A former fair maiden (what am I writing here??) - 1985 Ross Signature 294S. Handbuilt with Ishiwata 024 tubing. Great rider, high quality, many different forms, now has a new happy owner.

Lastly, a formerly pewter (paint was toast) 1981 Trek 616 with Shimano 600 Arabesque...and 7400 hubs laced to DP18 rims! This was a few years ago, so forgive the stem/bar/brake lever setup. RoS' aesthetic sense had not reached its final form. Very happy new owner when I sold it though.

Black I can do. I have two. It's the best color for a bike, btw. And a car too. First up is a 79 Trek 930, which came to me as a frameset, and secondly a 92 Paramount PDG 7 which also came as a frameset. The Paramount is actually a very deep, dark chocolate brown, but I'm the only one who knows that. To everyone else, it's black. Without further adieu:

My black bike. It's an '81 Raliegh Tourist (DL-1). Probably one of the last years this model was sold in the US. Purchased lightly used for too much. But it was in great shape and you don't see these in Louisiana very often - especially in this size.
