Can't acces FB, can someone copy the description into the forum? Never seen anything like it. Bar end shifters, Simplex? wow.

Bikerider007 12-25-17 05:08 PM

Even the cable end is interesting.

Ad says its a Paris Galabier-Henry Rensch.

Condor Cycles in the UK is building these to order.

repechage 12-25-17 05:22 PM

Condor cycles is building these to order still, and if I read it correctly built in Italy...
Famous UK brand using a French City built by Italians... How EU.

Wileyone 12-25-17 05:32 PM

A Lucas Bell. I wonder if it works?

Dougbloch 12-25-17 06:44 PM

Holy cow this thing just jumped to the top of my list of dream bikes!

Here is the link to Condor Cycles’ page on this unusual beauty: https://www.condorcycles.com/pages/paris

If it is not electric, it'll be OK.

Bikerider007 12-26-17 01:12 PM

Interesting....

"The first frames advertised were the top of the line Tour de France and the cheaper clubman-aimed Professional Road Racer –commonly known as the Professional."

The Galibier pictured there doesn't have dual seatstays.

I just thought the article was interesting and that it says there second from top of the line is the race bike. Or seem to insinuate.

It is interesting to me, and it's odd the race bike is not the "best" one. Mine was just an observation.

Wow. That thing is dead, solid bonkers. Almost every single detail is just way out there :thumb:

juvela. Where you been :-) Hope you had a great holiday! That makes sense. Although FS post states 49' I believe some of the quick research I came across stated this model may have been made 51-53. I didn't follow through too much due to size though.

Maybe you can trade it for a Wagner.

rhm 12-27-17 07:20 PM

Bar end shifter for the front derailleur, down tube for the rear. I've seen that before, on bikes of that era.

It interests me because I've taken to doing something similar, but reversed. Having both shifters at the right hand, but in different places, works for me.

Bosch would be best.

It's certainly unusual and impressively detailed.....but pretty??....I dunno.....
And was there really engineering justification for the design or was it just folly??

Survived yet another Weihnachts! Spent day in yardwork.

Is this a Marsh bar we are looking at here?

Noticed lamp bracket on left blade - purpose built for export?

It is noted in some info that it is a love or hate type design. Also there are some stated advantages over diamond but I'm sure there are disadvantage(s) as well.

Juvela I believe there is a mount on both sides. One other notable difference is this one has the additional set of stays whereas the only others I could locate do not have them.
