...I bought one of those just because I wanted to know what you get. I have an old Park double ended puller adapted for use with a bolt to push rather than the original handle. I haven't used it yet, but if you have the patience to wait until it ships from Poland, it's a nicely machined tool, and it's my favorite style with a bolt you can use a box wrench on.

Appears well made.

...think of it in different terms. Countless Stronglight cranks have been ruined by people using the wrong diameter puller. If you have one with your bike, if someone else needs to pull a Stronglight crank ( of the ones that remain), you can help save it. If you sell the bicycle with this crank to someone else, you can pass the puller along with instructions on how to keep from ruining the crank. You're actually cutting down on consumption by saving old Stronglight cranks.

Really? It's wider than standard, so how would a regular puller botch the stronglight threads if it's too small to even thread in?

OP, I'd send you mine, but I'm on the other coast. Shipping both ways wouldn't be practical.

I get it but agree with @3alarmer, include it with the bike or crank, pass it on, pay it forward so more parts can live on.

Are you scrapping the crank, is it still good, pic?

Also, tools are the ultimate in recycling, used properly and taken care of they can save a lot of resources, last forever.

I have one. I live in VA. I'll keep a watch on the thread. You can PM me if nothing shows up closer.

I'm thinking there might be 2 different sizes of Stronglight cranks. I could be mistaken. I think I have a puller for each size. Or there is only one size and I have 2 of the pullers.

The problem is that the TA extractor (often at the seldom-used end of the Park CCP-1 double-ended crank extractor tool), at 23.0mm diameter, just kinda-sorta fits the Stronglight 23.35mm threads. But under crank-removal type stress, it just strips the threads on the Stronglight arm.

If'n you were to make it to Boston, the trip down into @nlerner's bike cave is well worth the trip. I'm on the left coast, and have made the pilgrimage the last few years.

I'll be on Cape Cod over the weekend. If you can get to Chatham I'll spin it off for you.

I was mistaken about the different sizes. I have 2 of the Steins mentioned above.

Actually, there are two different extractor specs for Stronglight cranks. Prior to 1982, Stronglight used a 23.35mm x 1mm extractor thread. After 1982, Stronglight used a standard 22mm x 1mm extractor thread.

If you have older Stronglight cranks, you need to have the Stronglight-specific puller. As others suggested, if you ever sell the cranks or give them away, include the puller in the package.

I am not currently using my 1980 Stronglights, so I keep the extractor screwed into one of them, so that I can always find it.

The Park crank puller will ruin a Stronglight crank.

I picked up a mid 70's bike with a Stronglight crank and had forgotten about the unique crank threading. Glad this thread got started to remind me before I ventured into a tear down!

You mean the two-sided one, with one side made specifically for Stronglights?

The double sided Park crank puller had one 23.0mm side meant for TA cranks, not Stronglight. There was (IIRC) a VAR puller and a Stronglight puller specifically for Stronglight cranks. 23.35mm

BITD the French side of those Park tools actually did get used. We had a fully stocked TA case for making up custom cranks where I worked.
