What year is my Lemond Tourmalet?

I just picked up a Lemond Tourmalet last weekend. After changing all the cables, cleaning and greasing everything it seems to be a great bike. I have searched the internet to no avail so I am hoping someone hear can help me determine what year this is. The calipers and rear derailleur are Shimano Sora. The front derailleur is Shimano Tiagra. Shifter/breaks are Shimano Sora Flightdeck. There are three stickers near the BB one says Reynolds 853 Designer Select, one says World Cycling Championships 1979,1983,1989 and the third says Handmade in USA 85-6702. I am pretty sure that not all the parts are original to this frame. The serial number on a white sticker on the bottom states serial number is WL0017593.

Any help is appreciated.

2001 is my guess. LeMond catalogs are linked on the Vintage Trek site.

I saw that but wasn't sure if the Tiagra or Sora is the correct equipment for this frame.

Thank you Whit51

I own three Lemond from that era, so I've spent some time with those catalogs. My sense is that the color scheme for each model changed every year, so you should be able to pin the year down based on color and decals.

Yep, 2001. The only year it came in that black color except for 2008 when it was no longer steel but aluminum, blech!

Take a close look at that fork. It's probably just the angle of the shot but it looks bent backwards. Hopefully it's just the pic and not the bike.

I've got a 2003 Tourmalet and it's a sweet rider, have fun!

It's the angle of the picture it's not bent. It does ride real nice and smooth.
