Not as pretty as that '74, but here's my '84. I've owned it since 1988, it was my racer and primary transport during my 3 years in the South of Holland, and it's been to Cyclart twice in it's lifespan. I'm still weighing options for the rims and hubs. These C24's are just holding the bike off the floor until I get them chosen and built.

I bought the frame over 4 years ago and, the frame had lead a hard life, the original fork was missing, and a previous owner had modern braze-ons installed. The goal was to return the frame to its original specification. Based on the Hovey Masi site I believe it dates from 1963. wide ratio freewheel to make tolerable low gears with a 44t small ring.

of course you could break the bank and buy FMB tubulars. The bike would fit 27-29 mm tires well... a Cino’ bike

Thanks. I'm usually a Veloflex person, but this bike won't see a lot of miles. It is the sunny Sunday ride special at this point. I have other bikes that are Cino ready. I am looking forward to riding it when the roads clean up around here.

This is a bit of a zombie thread but I'll play.

Kactus's powder blue '76 GC and Steve Bauserman's red '74 GC are grail-ish or rosebud-ish bikes for me. I really like Styggno1's MONARK, too. The others are not my size.

I think Kactus was selling this bike a short while ago. I looked many, many times but did not go for it.

This is the third of my Masi trio. It is a 1975 Carlsbad Gran Criterium. It was purchased from the original owner who lived in Carlsbad. He had Masi in the mid 80s change the rear brake cable to internal routing and had them repaint it in the metallic emerald green color. Since the frame was redone in the 80s, I built it up with a first generation Campagnolo C Record group including the first edition Syncro shifter. The delta brakes are second generation (I believe).

here is Miji Reoch's 1970 Masi G.C. with Round bladed fork. This was special from Masi in Italy. This bike was ridden to numerous U.S. womens National Championships. Miji won over 10 National jerseys and even rode to the hospital during labor. Google her... Maryjane Reoch.

Any guesses on the year of this one? Looking the style of brake cable stops it appears to be to be a 90's bike with original components. The ebay seller posted no information about it and I'm curious which Columbus tubeset it has. I think the price is pretty fair being in almost showroom condition.

Note how the front brake is jammed up against the headset race. This is typical for the early GC's. This bike could use a short reach front brake. Originally Masi filed back the contoured washer to clear the headset.
Some other BF member had this as a frame set, very accomplished bike.
