Is anyone else here attending? *Not sure why the title won't show in all caps |
There’s a chance a contingent of us will come down from Boston on Saturday, but that’s also the start of Feb school vacation week, so we might be headed up to ski country.

I've been to only 3. And regretted not taking more pics after each. |
Sir_Name I am going to do my best to attend...
|
I'm planning to go on Saturday. Is there anyone in the Boston area who either needs a ride or a rider? If so pm me.
|
Looking forward to seeing any picks that attendees post.
|
Mr. Newlands indicated that he and Dave Levy were attending. ;)
|
Looks like I'll be going to NAHBS on Friday as we're leaving later that evening for a long weekend in the north country.
|
I have a Saturday ticket - I’m sure I’ll take a few hurried pics and will post them here.

I've been twice and it's big fun. Unfortunately the timing of the event is bunk for me, as our spring break doesn't show for two more weeks. |
I'm going Friday morning.
|
Hmm. It's tempting. What days are y'all gonna be there?
|
I'm trying to go Sunday, but need to find a ride from the Boston area
|
Here are some of the bikes I found interesting:
Don Walker https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Oe...c=w883-h662-no 66 x 16! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Jb...I=w883-h662-no Panasonic https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/AK...I=w883-h662-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Fn...w=w883-h662-no |
Bishop (my favorite bike at the show)
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_I...A=w883-h662-no crazy thinned lugs https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/jW...U=w883-h662-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Le...U=w883-h662-no That seatcluster lug makes me nervous about inserting the seatpost! |
Wojcik with Campy 50th

There were no really "out there" bikes (no bikes made from driftwood or steer horns), but this had me scratching my head:
Juliet https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/mN...Q=w883-h662-no Wouldn't want to ride it in the wet https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/v_...I=w883-h662-no |
And this 90's tribal tattoo design
Tred (or T-red? dude's English wasn't great and the logo was no help) https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Ew...A=w883-h662-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/BU...I=w883-h662-no It was 3d on the aluminum. I think it was hydroformed when they made the tubes? Anyway, very nice aluminum frames. Without the tribal design and too-deep wheels, I really liked that bike. |
The BEST bike
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/sU...U=w883-h662-no Go BU! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/1M...4=w883-h662-no Head of the Charles map on inside of front fork legs https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/VI...c=w497-h662-no |
I got into Hartford late, just reconnoitered for less than an hour today. Great to see the northeasterners here, but at first blush it doesn't feel a lot different than the Philly show. Except Bilenky has a smaller booth. Didn't see Velo Orange, they've had a big presence at the last few Philly shows.
I'll spend the day Sat, maybe Sun morning before I head home. Have a biz trip to Cali on Tue, so probably won't post any pix till next weekend? |

Juliet https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/mN...Q=w883-h662-no I wonder if next year the builder is going to turn the flat CF planes 90 degrees for a full suspension bike with no springs or pneumatics? Has anyone used CF in that manner before? It would be a fun experiment. That sort of vertical flex is well developed in skis, snowboards, skateboards, etc. |

Yeah, that one looks like it'd be the most vertically stiff and horizontally compliant bike in the show. I wonder if that was the idea?
