Artwork could be published here to be copied and printed and affixed to the bikes. Cheap, visible, maybe include your screen name for reference.
I notice that open triangle behind the seat tube and ahead of the seat stays, at the top. A nice triangle that could hold the BF C&V plate. Print the artwork on paper, glue one to each side of cereal box cardboard, cut the triangle and tie in place with twine. Could become a practice all over the world for "us-ens".

Be a bit creative to show we don't take ourselves TOO seriously.

As long as it’s light and aero though.

Are there any eroica-style antique bike fests in the PNW area? Or is the Eroica organization the only entity doing these antique bike festivals?
A few years ago, I made the road trip from LA to do the Tour de Lopez on Lopez Island in the San Juans. Drove over 2000 miles round trip to ride 35. Had a great ride, good times along the way. The freeway goes both ways.

I have suggested this idea for a couple of years now but no-one seems interested. It seems that people want to stay anonymous at this gathering.

I like the idea. Maybe print up some stickers to affix to the official number plate.

Great idea that could be extended to a patch that could be attached to riding jersey.
Would help BF riders meetups on everyday rides.
Would also help recruit more BF posters since other riders would notice and possibly participate after googling

Just need the card dimensions, easy to make a Bike Forum sticker. I've sent an email to the Eroica peoples to see what they think. Maybe have a stack of them available at registration?

Rev 2:

Probably sticker on top, name on bottom, or vice versa, but you get the drift.

We could also just write "BF C&V" with a sharpie on the number plate, or maybe with a grease pencil so we stay period correct.

Great, the local law enforcement will have an easier time rounding us up.

I like gugie's idea!
Or... a box of colored (pick one. Should be the BF C&V color)labels from Staples and a sharpie. Put your screen name on them an stick it to the lower rear corner of the Eroica plate on both sides. If you all are game, I'll bring the stuff and post the location when I get there Sat. am.

Joe (jcb3) hooked some us up with stickers last year.

I'm signed up for the coastal route again and will be riding the 1972 Nishiki Professional.

It's all sounding good, as long as the BF organizers are Ok with using their logo. Sign me up, the check in desk would be the best place, or just post a full size label and we can print our own, and affix them to the ride plate with double stick tape, glue or whatever period correct paste you can find.

I emailed the Eroica organizers this:

Over at the Bike Forum Classic and Vintage section, we were wondering if it would be ok to put a custom sticker on the number plate? A lot of us only know each other from our online handles, I was thinking of using the Bike Forum logo for the sticker, then we could hand write our online name on it so we could identify each other.

If that's the case, will you be using the same number plates as before? One side with the number, the other with the Eroica logo? Assuming it's ok, how much room do you have either above or below the Eroica logo?

The Eroica reply:

We won’t be getting involved in your group’s decision such as this.
However, we would like to ask you not to cover our logo or our sponsors logo with your sticker.
We know that Classic Rendezvous folks are setting up a meeting time on Friday and also meeting at the swap meet.
As far as the bike number for this year, it will be a similar in design as last year. We have not finalized yet.
Thank you.

All the best,

Eroica CA Team

So, don't cover any logos, try to keep it small.

Me too. The bike will need a shakedown after the unboxing. I can't help but notice that Firestone Walker Brewing company.

No, won't be there this year, leaving the calendar open for when we go visit our new (and first) grandchild.

But maybe next year, I like that coastal route, and I'd love to do it on my new gravel bike in the NOVA Eroica (then I don't have to borrow Joe's bike!).
