I thought 531 wasn't produced anymore?

Looks cool, though.

That's nice! I'd prefer the fork were painted. I'd also prefer the Reynolds 531 decal were in the right place. But it's nice.

It’s a handsome enough frame but if I was going to spend $900 on a Raleigh it wouldn’t be that one.

I agree a painted fork with chrome socks would be nicer, rear chromed half or full stays would be nice too. If they had 4 different colours and 4 sizes, they would need to make 16 different forks. But with only one available colour it is a minor cost saving measure at the expense of style. And the decal facing backwards...

No--and I also have a frame with a braze on there and nobody has ever been able to tell me what it's for. If you find out, let me know!

Weird how there is nothing between 53cm and 57cm... That kinda rules me out. I can ride either, but it's not ideal, and I certainly wouldn't spend $900 on a non-ideal frame.

I did some googling and found nothing. So, here is a guess on my part. Since there is no pump peg, maybe it's to mount a CO2 pump like this one without giving up a bottle cage. If that's it, it really diminishes the C&V idea.

It's way too low (and the wrong kind of braze on obviously) to be a mount to control a bottom bracket generator, but that's the first type of braze on on the back of the seat tube that popped into my mind. Not positioned correctly help you mount your fenders. Hmmmm...

I do think that if I was going for one of these, I'd probably go with this paint scheme over the Team TI version they were offering but that's because I already have a replica team frame (from a different manufacturer/model) that, itself, at this point counts as vintage, and I like these subdued colors with a nice honey saddle and some shellacked cotton wrap. Hot that I'd kick the Team TI out of bed if someone were offering to give me one.

Bike Friday has one between the derailleur mount and the bottom bracket. I thought it was for a cable stop, but here is their explanation.

NeedCableStop.jpg

We have a little piece that looks like a candle that threads in there. When the bike is folded the body of the piece extends out past the chainring and protects it when the bike is in the suitcase.
Obviously the Raleigh is different. That will be fairly close to the closest point the tire will come to the seat tube. I'm also not seeing any indication of a chainstay bridge which is the normal place for a fender mount.

So, I'm going with himespau on a possible fender mount.

Interesting frame. Anybody see notes of where it is actually made?

Did you check the geometry tab? The range in top tube lengths isn't very wide between the 49cm and 61cm (524mm to 575mm), so if you otherwise rode a 55cm square frame, the "57cm" might work for you.

Yeah, that's unfortunately the opposite of what I would prefer. I have long arms and short legs, I'm like a freaking monkey. My preferred size is a 54-55cm seat tube and a 57cm top tube.

Not that I was in the market for a new frame anyway! Just blathering. As usual.

I like a fully-chromed fork, but without a matching chrome-plated driveside stay it doesn't quite balance out here. The chainstay proportions look weird to my eyes, too.

That said, it looks a decent frame for today's money considering the cost of a true custom.

Ah, gotcha. Long arms and short legs... have you considered a Surly?

It's a faux Raleigh.

Everyone knows that the top tubes have to be 57cm to be authentic.

Those frames have been out since 2016, the first ones were a brown color.

CRD Carlton Record Frame-set?ARAYA RALEIGH

The brochure says mudguard Option Droyoke (FN - ROAD) installation possible. These are some different Raleigh mudguards on ebay. Looks like the hole on the rear one would maybe attach to that allen bolt on the seat tube.

It looks great, but I'm wondering if one might get the real thing for much less than what this new one is priced at.
That's a big thing, if they are targeting cheapskate C&Vers like a lot of us here...
I'm not in the market for these, but still good to know that this option exists.
