I am working on it too! maybe we need to lower the count requirement as long as we seem like decent folks! one bad apple always ruins it for the rest of us upstanding citizens (denizens?)

EDIT damn only 66?

Go to the Advocacy and Safety forum and get in an argument about most anything. You'll be there before you know it.

Sorry, I've been inundated with some volunteer work and missed the last few posts. Crank Addict is in IL. If the Doc has a lead on things, I will defer to his closer connection. Otherwise, I still have his address if need be.

No response to my text of several days ago; have not heard from Scott in several months.

How about we start again? Maybe Scott will return and offer the box he (probably) received, and we can consolidate, especially the metal liner.

Would people be willing to wait while I inquire in a C/V fashion and mail a letter?

Would a phone call be appropriate?

I think it seems a little premature to start a new box. We know this one is packed with interesting items, and it seems like several forum members know crank_addict personally, or at least have a means of contacting him. He's a prolific contributor here, and sometimes life gets in the way -- it seems like he deserves the benefit of the doubt. Just my .02.

I have no dog in this fight, but here's my opinion.

He's a long time member, and it seems there may be health issues in his immediate family. If he's not replied to Docs text, I'd let it be. Something's evidently not right in his life, and it's not our business to pry. Start a new box, when/if thing settle down in his life, let the old box catch up with the new box and combine them. This is just an internet forum; not real life. Let his life be his business and just work around him until things come back around. Give space where/when needed.

That sounds like a good plan and I agree. I may have some items, but not enough to start a box. Can anyone manage, or several of us can contribute to get it going?

I've got crap for a box. Send your crap my way and I'll toss my crap in the box and forward it to the next crap adder in line. When it's full, start at the end of the last line and go from there?

I too see no urgency in this matter. If, in the end, we need to start a new box, I'd be happy to send a load of crap to whoever starts a new box.

Well I can start it, but it will have to wait until I get back as I am leaving for vacation to Seattle Wednesday and just don't have time in the next 24 hours to take care of it. When I get back, if the situation remains unchanged, I will get a box started and maybe it can be passed among a few of us until full. (my wife would probably fill it, but I won't let her sift through my stuff)

If Noobinsf can wait until 10/4, I can fill a box worthy of crap status. Getting ready for the Pedaler swap, https://www.theped.com , and need to go through the shed. I'll be on the east coast for a wedding until the 2nd. In the mean time, Crank_addict might return. If we do a hand off, we could save on postage. All I ask in return is a box o crap sticker when they catch back up to the box.

I happen to be next, but I am honestly in no hurry. My main concern is giving crank_addict the time and space he needs, and if starting a new box is the most conscientious way to do this, then I’m all for it. I just need to know to whom I should send my address. @crandress, just let me know...

I had a PM from a BOC member who has now been in contact with crank_addict. He has confirmed there have been issues that have kept him away from the computer. But it also sounds like he may make it back in the near future. So lets hold off on the new box. And I think this is a special situation, so there is not plan to add him to the naughty list. We just hope everything is ok with him and thing are getting sorted out. If we still have not made progress by the weekend of the 6th, I will start to put something together.

Hopefully all is well (as can be) in crank_addict's world. The rest of this is insignificant.
