Is there a companion thread where we post photos of Box o' Crap parts in action?

The XT derailleur was the last bit of inspiration I needed to swap an 8-speed setup onto my ratrod of a Univega CX bike, it works well after a full rebuild. Also featured are some thrashed cranks I got from @smontanaro a while back, they polished up fairly well.

The Simplex derailleur went on ye olde weirdo Peugeot along with the long-reach centerpull brakes. They also cleaned up nicely, or enough that they don't look like crap anymore!

No companion thread. Just post here if you like. Not a requirement, but nice in my opinion.

The box landed yesterday. I haven't had a chance to preform the opening ceremony yet - van broke down on the freeway when son was driving home at 2 am, I was rousted from bed and up until 4 am, then spent today working out a temp fix and ordering replacement parts. Nothing like laying in a muddy gutter under a dripping van to make you appreciate bicycles. I'll get pics posted and box en route Monday. @nlerner you have a pm seeking your address!

The box was ceremonially opened, ransacked, restocked, and will take flight to nlerner tomorrow!

The quality of the crap has improved since I last had the box. Good job guys! I believe I have done my part to elevate the crap and hope the future recipients enjoy!

The second picture shows what I was considering :-) i put something rather bulky into the box and had to make room! I forgot to take the final take shot.

As a not often participating member and past recipient I would like to suggest that we re-look at the 150 posts requirement. I thoroughly enjoyed my experiences with the BOC and would love to receive it again in he future. Speaking of those who cannot receive it very often, I would love to see a few new faces added and wondering if the 150 post requirement could feasibly lowered to 100. I know crandress is the present Great and wonderful Crapmaster, I think that some prior Crapmasters should weigh in first as they wrote and maintained the rules, who are we minions to ask for a change....

I questioned this when I started and contemplated lowering the requirement. I don't recall if this was public or private, but after getting input from at least one other Crapmaster, I was convinced to leave it a 150.

You have been added back, thank you! I see you are in Evanston, I picked up a frame from another forum member Thanksgiving weekend in Evanston. My first French frame, maybe there will be some useful French stuff in the box when I get it!

BOC has landed in New England!

And here's my haul (primarily to make room for more crap):

It goes off to the Crapmaster in the morning.

You were in Evanston??? Maybe 63rickert?

I sold my only French bike a couple months ago. About the only French bits I have left are a Huret Jubilee derailleur, maybe a chainring or two. The derailleur won't end up in the BoC, but chainrings might...

Maybe I can help you fix that gate alignment after TdFFD-3.
