May I ask how you go about cleaning all the little bright bits? Is it as simple as using a bit of that compound on a rag and just getting to work?
Spit and finger nail, water and credit cards, foil and chain saw oil, wire brush and drill. I'll start with a little solvent and toothbrush or bristle to get the grime grit, mix in some water on a rag, I'll do the same with polish if needed. That all depends on condition, that stuff in the picture was still in good shape. The back derailleur needed the most. The bodywent through some fingernail and chainsaw oil. The set screws and springs I did the wire wheel and drill. The pulley wheels I think I used olive on s rag, wd 40 on the bearing, then the chain saw oil. I think I used the Gords on the front derailleur when it was all disassembled, that's almost all chrome. |
