Zieleman pics wanted
Hi everyone! I've been looking at your bikes on this fantastic site for year's now,Fab!
I'm a collector myself mainly of Amsterdam built bikes.I have recently started a Facebook group called Zieleman Racefiets Foto's Database with the aim to collect as many pics of Zieleman bikes all on the one group...a visual database....
If you own a Zieleman it would be great if you could add your pics! Many Thanks !! Jean Yves

Hi JYvdK,
I saw your post here while searching the net for Zieleman bicyles. I bought and raced one in 1973-4 and have some pics of it. Unfortunately, as a new member I'm not allowed to attach any pics until I make 10 posts. But if you're interested, I'm sure we can find a way for me tp get them to you. There's also quite a story behind it but won't share for now as I'm not sure if this 3 year old post is still active. Let me know if it is.
Best,
Stan F.

Thanks for the reply and will try to find a way to get some pics to you. I tried to load them here but am restricted until 10 posts. If you trust me with your email, I'll gladly send them to you that way,
I just read that KZ passed away in April. Although I never met him, I owned and raced on of his bikes back in 1973-74. It was fantastic! I was riding as a junior then, mainly on the East Coast criterium circuit. I was working for the McLean (Virginia) Lawn Mower & Cycle shop owned by Chris Meerman. He was on the US National Team for the 1K time trial (track) and being of Dutch ancestry, frequently traveled and raced in Holland. That's where he came across Zieleman and eventually sold them to other riders in the East. After I started university, I ran out of time and money, so sold it in 1979. Shame on me.

I love that picture above. I think what I love the most about it is it is a vintage picture of a vintage bike. The floor tiles and paneling make it better than some of the photos of well preserved or restored bike in modern settings.

It's a Dutch made bike so doesn't need a chain. The winds are quite strong there.
