Welcome to BF.
And I've not seen a Sun Tour brand bicycle before.
I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the same name brand of components; but that'll just make searching out any info that much harder.
Good luck with your query

I'm not a Sun Tour history expert at all. Is this an earlier head badge? Can someone school us?

Shimano did make bicycles, very briefly, but I'm not aware of SunTour doing the same. Still, I wouldn't rule it out. Having more pictures of the bicycle and the serial number may provide some clues or at least allow us to date it. It could be an unrelated private label brand, something foreign market or even a special badge done for bicycles used as show exhibits.

The badge in post #4 looks like they stole the figure from an early 1980s Shimano Aerodynamics catalog. I'd guess that the OP's bicycle is older, based on what appears to be a centre-pull brake cable.

Thanks a lot for the information. Suntour is not a common brand here in Spain. I think that when MTB fever arrived on 80s Shimano overstocked the market. And On road groups Campagnolo was the king.

thanks brother. I know this is definitely not a suntour bike brand. but I'm curious what the meaning behind badge suntour. in another thread there is only information about if there is a bad suntour badge sure the bike was wearing full component suntour. but I was curious about the suntour bike team whether they used the suntour badge just as a feature

yap. suntour must be seen sun tour. like runt suntour cyclone .. there is a space after sun

I'm very curious what exactly is my bike brand, which only has clue badge only. I'm in the removing paint stage. by searching for serial number. but had time to think what if there is no serial number. then what is possible this badge is custom. I'll upload my bike photos later. my bike is a newfangled ladies bike 80s 90s

I thought I posted this bike which is still for sale locally and I too was puzzled by the name. IIRC someone, perhaps T-Mar or WRK101 thought Suntour (or Sun Tour) who would have had a lot of parts laying around simply reached out to a generic frame maker and asked them to bang off some frames.

wow nice bike. do you have a head badge suntour? I've read on a thread and it says that this is just a special suntour show bike. I did not know it was right or wrong

WGB, I do recall the bicycle but it likely somebody else who made the statement. I don't think I would have called that a "show bicycle". Component manufacturers typically didn't use entry level frames to showcase their wares.

Sainz, you said you had more photos. Please post them. It may help.

T-Mar not me saying "show bicycle", was just pointing out that this wasn't first bike with name Suntour or Sun tour we'd seen.

For Sanz, if you are in Ontario it's for sale for $100 Canadian in the country near the City of Hamilton. Been for sale since the fall

It would help if you would post many good pictures of entire bike. A headbadge picture is insufficient.

That looks like a relatively modern, entry level city bike. I'm surprised to see a riveted, metal, head badge.I would have expected a decal or plastic badge.
