My pride and joy: 86 Pinarello Montello. I put it together myself back in the day, rode it for several years, then hung it up when my son was born. I've only recently begun riding it again, and I'm sorry for all the time I missed.

This is my pride and joy. A 1976 Schwinn Superior with a frame that was built in December 1972.

Here is my daily ride for now. (until the peugeot is done) I call it my junk yard dog. It is a miss mash of parts from different brands and different eras. It is a 1985 Performance Ti frame that I have been rebuilding over the years. The wheels are heavy (open 4CD/600) but they are so darn good, I can't replace them.

We also have a tandem and hubby has an all weather ride but they are no where near C or V.
Brenda[/QUOTE]

Hey, so there is actually another 1995 Ti Performance bike in existance! Here is mine, recently purchased for a very small sum and converted to singlespeed. At this size (53cm TT), it has a steep ST, which I like. I have it geared for 53x18, which makes the hills a challenge.

seat-bag

Tigerprawn; if its my saddlebag you`re thinking of its a one litre Spectra (european brand; Cycleurope) onto I`ve clipped a water cage. The waterbottle cage is low-price from a big autoparts-dealer and is meant to be sitting on handlebar. Looks a bit awkward but is handy when going longer journeys.

I recently mounted a Tubus Luna stainless rear rack on the Waterford and bought a pair of Lone Peak P100 Cordura panniers for some credit card touring next spring to get in shape for June's San Francisco to Los Angeles AIDS Ride.

That bike looks great no matter how you dress it. I'm thinking of doing the ride also, but don't know if I can take the time off. It's for a great cause.

I bought this for 20 dollars at a church rummage sale . I was riding by and saw it in the parking lot. It was faded on 1 side and still had the owners manual attached to the handlebars. I think it was bought, hung up and never ridden. I replaced the tires and tubes and mounted huge baskets and its our grocery store bike.

If it was sunburnt on just one side it sounds like it was hung in a shop window for display.

Nice catch.

1969 Raleigh Riviera

My new (old) favorite ride! Fixed up just in time for Colorado winter! I found a Fujita leather saddle at a garage sale today that I think will look great on this bike.

Schwinn!

Hello - new here!
This is my bike:
I know its a Schwinn but if anyone knows the exact model/year, please let me know!
I'm also interested in whether or not I can covert this bike for touring (possible cross-country ride this summer), any thoughts?
Em

You should probably ask that over in the touring forum, but I think you might be better off getting a dedicated touring bike for a X-country trip. You would likely have to spend many times more than that bike is worth to make it tour worthy.

While technically you can tour on any bike, that bike just isn't ever going to be a good touring bike. It is a wonderful neighborhood bike.

You're just going to sit too upright, with all your weight on your tail, instead of how you would sit comfortably all day/all month on a real touring bike.

edit: Is that a Technics SA200 receiver sitting on the bar?

Bob Jackson Touring Bike 1960's?

I bought this bike on ebay several years ago. When I was much, much younger and was racing, Jackson's were highly thought of and years later I couldn't pass it up. I was told it was built for a tour of France in the 1960's and ridden only occassionally since then. Guy died some years ago and the family sold it. Since the pictures were taken, I've stripped it down and shipped the frame to Leeds for refinishing.

My latest acquisition- a 1980s Schwinn World Sport, $10 off Craigslist. The paint is pretty nasty so I plan to repaint it (new decals already on order from ebay) and use the best components, wheels, etc. off this bike and my wrecked 1984 Nishiki Olympic 12 to produce a decent vintage roadie.

Date code of G0884, made by giant in August of 1984 (the month I got married ;-)

Just finished restoring this 1974 Raleigh Sports. Got it for $75 locally through an ad in the classifieds.

I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, being my first restoration

At first glance I thought it had some sort of mutant monster pie plate on the rear wheel...
