so others have decided to go to painstaking lengths to break down your comments in this thread and show how awful your argument is. I thank them for it.

I posted this yesterday and it still applies now- I'm not sure what your point in any of this was or is.

you seem to confuse or lump together nationality with ethnicity.

China, that massive country in Asia, is China.
Taiwan, that small island in Asia, is Taiwan.
***those are countries and when goods are manufactured, the country of origin is listed.***

it doesnt matter if the people of Taiwan identify as ethnically Chinese as the goods are made in Taiwan and therefore labeled as 'made in Taiwan'.

If the people in China identified as American, the goods would still say 'made in China' because the goods are identified by the country in which they are made.

But none of this is new and you know all this. You are simply being obtuse for a reason I dont understand, and you are trying to make a point I dont understand.

I bought the last one. It is currently being made my Mark Nobliette.

Nobilette Cycles

Hope to have it by late Spring. It is a 59cm w/ a 58 top tube. Have not yet decided on paint. :)

Love to see that one.

Sounds great!

My brother has a red Legolas that was raced locally. I've tried to buy it from him, but he isn't ready to cough it up.

The details on the frameset are nice and it can take some pretty serious rubber.

I think it would make a superb all roader.

I will continue to correctly refer to anything made in either China or Taiwan as Chinese made because it amuses me that people are confused by it. I don't care about political boundaries.

P.S. I'd be curious if people from countries with better maintained infrastructure, say Japan or France, have seen a similar trend towards bigger tires take hold (not just 23c to 25c, but actually bigger tires).

You'd have to define 'people'. In countries with a decent road infrastructure for cyclists, such as Denmark and Holland, most 'people' use their 50 lbs bikes every day to get comfortably and safely from A to B, preferably without flats. They don't know and don't care about size. Or weight. If it fits, it fits. If it doesn't flat it's a good tire. Schwalbe Marathon Plus' and their predecessors have always been popular with that vast majority.

And then there's 'people' like me who waste time on bicycle forums, actually read Jan's blog, and have an opinion. :)

well that's a completely crazy approach to take.
you don't care about political boundaries? Really, what does that even mean?...you don't recognize that two countries are different?

do you not recognize Ireland and Northern Ireland as different?
do you not recognize Canada and USA as different?
do you not recognize Germany and France as different?

why wouldnt you recognize national(political) boundaries? It causes confusion and argument...but it appears that amuses you. So you are simply a troll when it comes to this topic.
brilliant.

I usually try to restrain myself but this one got away from me. My apologies.

This thread has strayed too far off topic and has turned far too political.
