....

Nice pics and report. Very inspirational.
I also - and especially - like that early-1960s PX10 in the foreground.

Thanks for sharing and taking time to post.

Nice pictures. The 'Hoge Bi' must have been very uncomfortable on the cobblestones.

Thank you for the pictures. This looks like a ton of fun. What is Mrs. Non-Fixie's mixte?

The object of desire was her Mercier. Here it is pictured the day before the event. Like Munny said, the cobblestones are killing for the materials and our test ride resulted in a broken water bottle mount, so I had to find another solution.

Beautiful color on that Mercier!

It must have. However, the rider is very experienced. I've seen him race that contraption in the Oudenaarde town square a few times now, and the speed at which he manages to stay upright in those corners is amazing.

How was the IJsselmeer 400?

Oh, wow! Hadn't seen that yet. Thanks for the heads-up. :thumb:

Lots of great portraits, BTW. Might be pursuaded to bring the tandem next year ...

Thanks for posting! She certainly looks like she would be "twisty" without the presence of laterals.

Perhaps our favourite naval vessel would care to comment... CV-6

Excellent pictures and report. Thanks for sharing, it’s nice to be whisked away to another land while enjoying a late lunch!

I had spoken to the owner, a Swiss gentleman, a few minutes before taking this picture, and he told me he'd just damaged the stoker's seat tube. If you look closely, you can see a tear at the top. Very sad.

OK non-fixie, most excellent report.
But NO ONE asked about the nun in full habit = Flying Nun-of-Flanders? Sister-of-the-Vintage-Chapel? Tom Boonen in .... nevermind......!
You could best put it in the pleasing local lingo phrase-iology

Pray tell the whole truth of the story.

I did not ride the 400, 2 weeks ago I had a bike accident and hurts my hands (and bicycle frame).
The picture of you and mrs non-fixie is very nice.

The nun is a bit of an enigma. She's very pretty, has a wonderful smile and prize winners get to kiss her.

I really, really need to win a prize next year ...

Thanks, Paul! Sorry to read about your accident. Hope you heal soon, and the damage to the frame can be fixed.

Kissing a pretty nun, in full habit, with a wonderful smile (in public) does seem to be a bit enigmatic.
But who am I to judge?
There's more to the story than I know.

BITD there was a drag group Sisters of the ________ (something)
But those were San Francisco area days.

I doing much better now, my hands are still hurting a little,
My frame can not be fixed, the downtube is kinked, I have to make a new frame.

That was the frame you built for yourself? Dang! Gazelles can easily be replaced, but there is only one handmade 'paulkal spécial'. :( The upside is of course, that you now have an excuse to build an even nicer one. :)

Yes, it was the frame I built myself. Already thinking of building a new one, a Paulkal Super Speciale.
