Can't help with your quest, but FWIW: nice to see this bike back on page one.

There's rarely enough interest in highly respected builders such as - Allin, Bill Philbrook, Roberts, Cliff Shrubb...these are very highly regarded but little seen/discussed on British forums let alone an American one.

R.e.w. Reynolds bike

So, here's another REW Reynolds bike that I have owned since about 1978 or there abouts...purchased the frame from Cycle Imports in Cornish, Maine through my shop in N.Y. State. I put a lot of time into the build and have babied it for all these years--never putting that many miles on it. Interesting story--it was supposedly ordered for someone who got tired of waiting for it for over a year, and it fit me, so I bought it--even with the odd choice of down tube cable stops instead of lever mounts! I guess original purchaser planned on beacons, so that's what I got.
Phil Wood B B, custom drilled & slotted Suntour Cyclone derailleur, 1st gen Dura Ace brakes & hi flange hubs. Sugino Mighty Victory drilled crank etc.
Don't know who built it, but it has a faded signature decal at front of top tube, which appears to be REW REYNOLDS.
Sloping fork crown, fastback stays

Well quick update the cream and maroon R.E.W has been sold and will hopefully be renovated by it's new owner.

In the meantime I got contacted by someone clearing out a garage who had a bike for sale . And guess what another r.e.w arrived .

One previous owner but unused for approx 20 years. Looks like a good service will see it back on the road .

Had confirmation yesterday that it was is Woodrup built frame supplied to R.E.W Reynolds .

Also had word that Tom Bromwich made some frames for R.E.W Reynolds as well .
Plus I have seen some photos of Mr and Mrs Reynolds which are the first one's I have seen .
