A couple of nice '76 Super LeMans

I saw these and almost forgot that conversation I had with my wife... you know, the one about buying only the essentials this month. My guess is that they have been kept in that shed since they were purchased in 1976!

Not gonna buy 'em, but I know there are a few here who appreciate the classics.

The ad has been taken down. Hope you ended up with them. I've got a double case of orange bike envy!

The taller one has a few interesting things: the tubing sticker on the back of the ST is pretty weird. And I've never seen the black accents on the crankset and FD before.

I've had a couple 77 super lemans, which are basically identical. Cool bikes!

I just got the pair home and they are in pretty good shape. The tires are quite old and need replaced. Somehow the Black cyclone rear derailleur on the larger bike went missing between the ad photos and the handoff. Replaced by a wide range Suntour V. Too bad! Otherwise, should be fun to rebuild

Those are gorgeous!!! Glad to see someone here is going for them. If I had the cash and the storage space I would buy up every Centurion I could find! There's just something about them that always gets me going!

The black accents turned out to be automotive pin stripe tape applied by the previous owner. These bikes had belonged to a husband and wife pair of riders, and had been found at an estate sale by the seller. The chrome on these polished up nicely!

I'm assuming you picked them up... If so, I'm glad an appreciator got them and not some schmo!

Robbie - you are welcome to borrow either one of these for líeroica. The 52cm bike has a 34 tooth on the rear cluster!
