Concorde Bike
Hi everyone,
I acquired an old Concorde forever ago, not knowing anything about bikes. I used it a bit. A friend had it for years, where it sat and collected dust and to be honest, I forgot about it. It's since been returned, not in great shape (component wise), but I'm interested in knowing more about the frame. I'd also be interested in fixing it up to ride in the off season. Any ideas/suggestions on whether it's worth putting a little money into it to make it road worthy? Collectible worthy? Thanks so much! Picture attached - I think Meg |
Pic not attached, but there are some very nice Concorde frames out there and the nice ones are worth refurbishing and riding. The team frames are probably collectible for some people

Im sure given that it IS a higher end Concorde, it might not hurt to upgrade your bike. Pics would be best!

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your comments so far. I've been having trouble uploading an image, so I've tried again here and i think it's worked this time. Could anyone tell me how I might be able to find out the year and any other information about the frame? Many thanks! Meg |
It's hard to tell much from the poor resolution, non-driveside photo. However, the brake levers appear to be Shimano SLR. Based on this, in conjunction with the dark heaset cups, it may be 1987-1989 Shimano New 105 equipped, which was typically spec'd on mid-range models.
I can't see any visible tubing decal. Depending on the price point they wanted to hit, and assuming it is OEM New 105, there could be a fair range of tubesets. This was also around the time that they introduced their self-branded Ultech tubesets. Pending further info and better pictures, the best indicator to tubing grade may end being the seat post diameter. |
