Simplex Criterium RD with claw mount?

I'm wanting to use a Simplex Criterium RD on a Peugeot which doesn't have an integral RD hanger. Is it just a matter of using the upper pivot bolt from a Simplex Prestige RD with a claw and mounting the Criterium onto it? I've only seen one example of a Criterium model with a mounted claw, and nothing available.

This model:

I believe you need a different pivot bolt.

For some reason the simplex sx 410 and 810 gt versions frequently have claws and you could swap one of those out. The pivot bolt for the claw is completely different.

Could be a prestige pivot bolt fits as well.

The claw acts as the pivot stop, so a usual one probably wouldnt work

The clawless version of the Prestige uses the same upper pivot bolt as the Criterium, so the bolt from the claw version of a Prestige should fit a Criterium without issue.

Thanks. I'll be giving it a try later, once I get the parts in. I'll post whatever results I find.

And, if the complete clawless Criterium rear derailer is at hand, you could simply mount it to a Shimano/Suntour/generic threaded claw mount and it would be ready to bolt right up to any plain, hangerless dropout.
This because the clawless Criterium rear derailer has it's own separate stop plate, so that feature on the claw hanger is not needed.

Update. I picked up a junk Simplex Prestige RD with claw, and the Criterium was an exact fit with the Criterium RD's original mounting bolt, since the claw already had a 9mm mounting hole. It wasn't necessary to replace the Criterium's upper pivot bolt with the one from the Prestige, just uninstall the Criterium keeping the tab in the same location, then mount to the claw.

Learned something new today.
