Let's be gentle about this, and not push things. There's a lot of grieving going on right now with the family.

Exactly. I exchanged two emails with Jon's widow and left it at that. In the end, I was just appreciative of the fact she went through his email and personally answered mine (and I assume others) to inform of his passing.

A small bit of time has passed since Jon's sudden and tragic departure. Not like I want to be the one to bring up such a painful post but I too wanted to pay my respects. I did it in the best way I know how, which was to put together a small post, using all Jon's images, to try and tell his story of who he was, what he did and why we won't soon forget this wonderful person.

A Tribute: Jon Williams

Oh my. That is a fitting tribute. I missed this thread earlier and am saddened to hear the news. I never had contact with Jon but had looked at his Flickr pages a number of times. As someone who does a fair amount of hand work, it was impossible not to have immediate respect for the man - a person who really knew what he was doing, evidently in many respects. Condolences to his family and friends.

Great tribute, Josh. Thanks for taking time to do that.

Thanks everyone for the flattering words on the post.
Not looking for accolades or anything like that but simply trying to pay homage to a good man.

That was a very nice read. I’ve always enjoyed Jon’s Flickr pics and comments.
