Kabuki SSK
I recently acquired a Kabukie SSK and I was considering fixing it up myself but I wanted to see if it would be worth it. I have been commuting by bike and decided it was time to teach myself some bike maintenance. I don't know anything about kabuki and the internet isn't helpful either. Anyone know anything?

No its not worth it as detailed on your other posting.
You need to aim higher. Your time is valuable too. Get a nice Japanese butted cromoly frame, with good components, three piece alloy crankset, alloy stem, seat post, rims, and handlebars.
Entry level from that era was really low end.
The SSK has all of the "avoid items" on it. Steel bars and seat post, stamped drop outs, high ten steel frame, steel rims, stem shifters, claw RD hanger, nutted axles, steel chain rings. Some had a cottered crank, later ones didn't. When a bike has one or two items on the avoid list, it can still be worth it. When just about everything concerning the bike is on the avoid list, its to be avoided.

It was mentioned that this is a low, low end bike- and that it wouldn't be worth your time, money and energy to attempt to fix it up yourself.
If you were looking for something to work on that you didn't have to worry about effing something up- this is a good bike for that.
